DFI 6

What a great day of learning.  I appreciate the guidance and discussion.

Dorothy’s presentation of ‘Rangtāmiro’ making and being connected is personal to me for my own journey throughout our online course. Connected by design timeline is so practical and for me implementation makes this so easier.

Google Site: Stuart McNaughton’s quote regarding what are teachers doing in a digital environment is quite enlightening. What an experience of the actual set-up and encouragement along the way.

What is most important to me is keeping abreast of the learning and finish my work. I was so proud I have set up my Google Site page. I am impressed with my header and will continue after this publish to complete my own page.

Thanks for the Cybersmart hints.

Multimodal

Although I am still quite slow at keeping up with today’s learning, I have found it quite exciting. Especially what I can do with practice and collaboration with my school colleagues as well as the awsome supportive whānau of Manaiakalani.
What I was most excited about of course is the multimoda model. Many of our children have access to digital devices, and many are visual learners. Really appreciate the behavioural and cognitive model. So important that I ensure that my goggle site work includes this.
Although I had many idea, I only managed to do my title page. I believe it is ongoing work in progress and I will continue with this mahi within the next two weeks.

DFI day 3 “Media”, Tuesday 24 February 2026.

I had an amazing day today. It was great to have Whaea Hinewa here to reassure and support my stages of learning varieties of “Media”.

I’ve always encouraged our teina to express themselves creatively in various forms. Today’s session, through Media creative explortion was rewarding. My confidence is beginning to grow but will need to  practice, practice, practice and give it a go.

I got a lot out of the following but will need to make the time and have a go to nuture the learnings of today. Goggle Drawing slides, fanatastic. I actually did my first blog adding to my profile.  Creating with slides was a good activity slide by slide. I am going to have a go at designing a newsletter in my own time. Hovering over the creative animation slides was amazing to see what students had presented.  Ngā mihi a rātou.

Looking forward to the session Wednesday 11 March 3.30;m Shapes and Texts with Hinewa.
